As an experienced English teacher with a love of all things literature and language, I offer sessions to school aged students with English as an Additional Language (EAL) as well as those needing specialised support for English. I also offer a small number of weekly sessions to adult learners of English.
I understand that learning English can feel overwhelming - especially if lessons feel fast, pressurised, or hard to follow. My teaching style is calm, patient and supportive, with a focus on clarity, building confidence and steady progress.
In my classes I provide well designed tasks and activities, backed by the latest pedagogical research and my own knowledge of what brings results.
For each student, I create a 5 step plan to address key challenges and difficulties, which provides clear direction for our sessions. As this is shared and referred back to, you will always know where you are and how you are progressing.
Who I work with:
• KS3/4 students who are new to English or developing fluency
• Students who struggle with the complexities of English Literature: language analysis, reading comprehension or essay writing
• Teenagers who need gentle, steady-paced learning
• Adults who want to improve communication, pronunciation and day-to-day confidence
My Experience:
I have an English degree and teaching qualification (PGCE+QTS) from British Russell Group universities, as well as a CELTA from the British Council. With over 7 years experience teaching English in the UK and abroad, I have a well-rounded understanding of the challenges for EAL students.
