I will try to tailor the format of my lessons to the tutee, finding what works best for how they work, their attention span, and any other specific goals and needs. I would prefer to work on smaller, more specific areas of a subject in a session, as I believe that a strong understanding of a small area of knowledge is better than a weak understanding of a broad area. This will also give me strong foundations from which I can broaden my tutee's understanding. To identify areas to work on, I will try to build a strong communication with my tutees and their parents/carers, working with them to identify what feels most urgent to them (e.g. working towards a specific assessment or) going through homework they've been assigned). I can also potentially going through past assessments or schoolwork if they feel comfortable allowing me to access this to see if I can identify any key weaknesses.

I currently have no experience with tutoring so I am charging what I think is a lower amount for tutoring (although I am absolutely willing to negotiate prices if you wish) and will aim to provide tutoring in 1 to 2 hour sessions. I have availability both during and after the school day and can also work weekends. Please contact me so I can arrange specific times around my university classes. I can tutor either online or in person for those who live in an area I can easily commute to (I am based in the York area).

My main strength is English literature, which I am currently studying at university, but I can also help with maths and history, both of which I studied at A-level. I can help with multiple subjects or one, depending on what your needs are.
