Subjects: P5-P7 maths, National 5 Maths, National 5 Applications of Maths, Higher Maths, Higher Applications of Maths, Advanced Higher Maths. I may also assist secondary level students in preparing for Oxbridge MAT and T-MUA entrance exams.

I specialise in in person tuition emphasising understanding mathematics rather than memorisation. I approach teaching as a collaboration. Exploring and understanding the material, stoking the fires of curiosity. Willing to travel because I believe in person instruction is the best in building confidence and skill. I am based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

I assess the fundamental understanding of pre-requisites to the currently studied course with standardised questions - eg if someone needs help with division, I may ask them times table questions. I want to build a holistic understanding of ideas. Multimodal learning approaches eg using blocks, dice, games are key for younger students, developing visual intuition is key for higher mathematics.

Exam prep involves creating flowchart "cheat sheets" with the student to lock in marks ahead of time. We will work together.

Preference for multiple sessions per week on a topic so that understanding can be consolidated. eg two sessions in one week to help a student learn division. Location/time is flexible.
