M? name's Alex, I have a bachelors degree in Chinese and International Relations and a masters degree in Chinese/English translation & interpreting, along with a TEFL teaching certificate. I have been a language teacher for over five years, with experience teaching children and young adults between the ages of 3 - 16 years-old. I have lived and worked in both Mainland China and Hong Kong in the past as a language teacher. As an avid language learner myself I understand the challenges and rewards of learning a new language, and I am especially excited to have the opportunity to teach the language I have the most passion darin! I am easy-going, understanding, and most importantly patient! Chinese can be a difficult language to begin learning, not only with having to learn the tones and the pronunciation, but also with getting to grips with reading and writing the script! My lessons are catered towards beginner level learners, little to no experience in the language is required. I will be able to provide you with a good grounding in understanding the stroke order when writing, and the basics of the script, along with speaking lessons helping with basic numbers, greetings, and other common social situations that you are most likely to encounter when speaking Mandarin. These classes are for anyone that would like to take the leap and start learning Mandarin, and will give you a good foundation to build upon should you decide to take your learner further! ??!
