My approach to tutoring is centred around creating a comfortable, supportive, and engaging learning environment. I believe one of the most important aspects of learning is feeling confident enough to ask questions and make mistakes without feeling judged. Every student learns differently, so I aim to adapt my lessons to the individual rather than relying on a rigid “one-size-fits-all” teaching style.
I strongly believe that any subject can become interesting and enjoyable when it is explained in the right way. My lessons are designed to be interactive rather than simply delivering information for students to memorise. I focus on building a strong understanding of key concepts so that students can apply their knowledge confidently and independently. I encourage students to engage actively with the material through discussion, problem-solving, and questions throughout the session.
The structure of lessons will vary depending on each student's goals and needs. Sessions can include reviewing class content, working through difficult topics step by step, practising exam-style questions, developing revision strategies, or strengthening weaker areas. I aim to adapt sessions to suit different learning styles and preferences so that students get the most out of each lesson.
Alongside academic support, I can also help students with broader educational and career planning. This can include guidance with university applications, discussing potential degree pathways, personal statement support where relevant, and helping students think through future career options and job planning. I know that academic choices can sometimes feel overwhelming, and having someone to talk through possibilities with can make the process much more manageable.
My overall goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to build confidence and help them feel more prepared for their next steps. I want students to leave lessons with a clearer understanding of the material, greater confidence in their abilities, and practical skills that extend beyond the classroom.
