I like to use the concept of “flipped” learning. This means that lessons are always tailored to your individual needs and that you always have appropriate support work to do to make sure you are prepared before the lesson itself.

All lessons are designed using my advanced IT experience and are intended to be fully interactive as well as engaging and instructive.

My vast experience teaching English language and literature means that I have developed a huge bank of resources, suitable for all levels of competency, interest, as well as suiting individual needs.

My teaching style is varied, although I believe that Socratic reasoning is an important basis for learning. This means that teaching takes place via clever questioning and that learning becomes intuitive as a result. Pace is important also, as enjoyment and engagement are essential in order to make progress, which will be closely monitored in order to make sure that students are clear as to next steps as well as having SMART targets to follow.

Lessons are also varied in structure - from didactic learning to learning that comes about through experimentation and problem-solving. As well as this, contextual learning is also important as it is proven to help the learning process if one puts academic learning into a real life context.

Overall - the learning experiences I offer will suit any level or need in terms of English language/literature at any level or need. My lessons are also designed to meet the needs of students who may have additional support needs.
