Hello! I offer specialized lessons that are crafted to help you achieve personal goals. Our first session will be focussed on getting to know you: your academic strengths, personal goals and learning style (auditory, visual, etc.). From there we will devise an educational plan that lays out clear targets to hit. Plans can and certainly will change, but I believe that having an outline focusses our attention and settles much of the anxiety that can be associated with learning.

A bit about myself: I am an American teacher from Los Angeles who has recently moved to London with my brother. In the States, I taught a variety of subjects in both traditional and non-traditional classrooms. I have taught all sorts of students from ages ten to eighteen and learned that no two students are alike. Everyone has different needs and the best way to help a student to work with them individually. My focus is on English Literature and Language but I am proficient in all subjects found in secondary schools. I am also a musician and would be happy to give guitar lessons!

My lessons are generally regimented with a focus on a particular daily subject. For example, if we writing a paper on the Hamlet, we may start the lesson with a free-write warm up, follow with a discussion on the Hamlet's motivations, and then finish by applying our discussion to a body paragraph with evidence from the text. And while lessons are structured, there is always flexibility! I believe a variety of activities and even games are important to getting the most out of education.
