Science and Maths subjects is about breaking down the topics to simple understandable and practical examples. Science on the outset sounds complicated and theoretical, but if students are able to visualise the concepts and simplify them it is the first step of tackling more complex problems or equations.
In my experience students like or hate the subjects based on how it is being delivered to them. So teaching and teachers play a major role in giving students the confidence they need to overcome any fears or misconceptions they may have about any specific subject.
We have all heard these phrases before ' I have that subject, and I hate the teacher' the opposite is also true ' I love this subject, the teacher is really good'
So my method is relate to the student, allow them to overcome their fears for the subject and turn it to enjoying and liking the subject. The result is good performance.
