My lessons are structured but relaxed. I'll usually start by identifying exactly where the gaps are, then work through concepts step by step before moving to practice questions. I don't believe in just drilling past papers without understanding the underlying maths first, so we'll always make sure the foundations are solid before exam technique comes in.

As a civil engineering graduate currently working in engineering project management, maths has been a practical tool throughout my career; not just something I studied and forgot. That perspective helps me show students that this stuff actually means something beyond the exam.
