Hi, I’m Alan, a fourth-year Aerospace Engineering student at Heriot-Watt University with a passion for helping students develop confidence in maths, physics and engineering. I understand that these subjects can sometimes feel challenging, so my aim is to make them as clear and approachable as possible.
Every lesson is tailored to the individual student. I take the time to understand how you learn best before explaining concepts step by step using simple language, worked examples and exam-style questions. Rather than just showing you the answer, I focus on helping you understand the reasoning behind each method so you can apply it confidently to new problems.
Whether you’re preparing for National 5, Higher, GCSE or A-Level exams, improving your understanding of a particular topic, or looking to build confidence, I will adapt each lesson to suit your goals and pace. I believe students learn best in a relaxed and supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their skills without pressure.
As a current engineering student, I use the same mathematical and scientific principles every day, allowing me to explain topics in a practical and relatable way. My goal is not only to help you achieve better grades but also to develop the confidence and problem-solving skills that will benefit you long after the lesson has finished.
Lessons are available online and can be adapted to suit your schedule. I am fluent in both English and Malayalam, so I am also happy to support students who are more comfortable communicating in either language.
I look forward to helping you achieve your academic goals.
