I adopt an approach of identifying the strengths and weaknesses of students. It is crucial to amplify these strengths and bring up the weaknesses as much as possible in order to get the best results. Every student learns differently and I like to identify the method from which the student is able to pick up the most information. Depending on the lesson and the content of it, I ensure I explain the topics to the best of my ability and constantly ask the student questions about what I am saying to make sure they understand the subject. I also encourage the student to stop me and ask any questions if they are even slightly confused about any topic.
I have previous experience in teaching students whilst at school, when I was assisting a teacher in their lessons. Having gotten an A* in GCSE maths when I was 13 years old, meant I was able to understand mathematical and scientific topics very early on, thus also allowing me to help others. Additionally, I have tutored students for their GCSE and mock exams, and in all cases their grades far surpassed their teacher's predicated grades after my lessons with them. I am not a clock watcher and would gladly go over the time limit agreed, in order to make sure that the student has a firm grasp of the lesson. The student's grades and success is my main priority. Therefore, I am sure the method I adopt to teach is effective and the student will get more than what they wanted out of my lessons.
