I have experience in 11+ tutoring and have recently completed a Subject Knowledge Enhancement course to refresh my experience with the GCSE and A level maths curriculums.

I am a confident, clear communicator, and I believe in working with students to find the best format and approach for them as an individual learner.

My maths lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, whether they are building confidence with core concepts, preparing for exams, or aiming for the highest grades. I focus on developing a strong understanding of the underlying principles rather than simply memorising methods, as this helps students apply their knowledge to unfamiliar questions with confidence. Lessons typically combine explanation, worked examples and guided practice, with plenty of opportunities for students to ask questions and work through problems independently. I also use past paper questions and exam-style practice where appropriate, helping students become familiar with the style and expectations of GCSE and A Level assessments.

Alongside maths, I hold an MRes in History of Art and am also available to tutor History and History of Art. I can support students with both subject knowledge and the academic skills needed to succeed, including essay planning, paragraph structure, constructing clear and persuasive arguments, and analysing sources or artworks. Whether a student needs help preparing for an exam, improving their writing, or developing confidence in their ideas, I aim to create a supportive learning environment that encourages curiosity and steady progress.
