My lessons are friendly, practical, and carefully tailored to each individual student's needs and goals. I believe the best way to learn programming and technical subjects is by doing, so my sessions are hands-on and interactive rather than just theory-based. I use a combination of live coding, real-world examples, and step-by-step explanations to make complex concepts feel manageable and engaging.
I have 3 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer at IBM, where I worked with Python, SQL, Unix, and data analysis on a daily basis for major financial institutions. I also mentored junior colleagues throughout my career, adapting my teaching style to suit different learning speeds and backgrounds. I am currently completing an MSc in Statistical Data Science at the University of Birmingham, so my knowledge is current, practical, and academically grounded.
For each student I start by understanding their current level, their goals, and how they learn best. From there I build lessons around their specific needs, whether that is preparing for a GCSE or A-level exam, completing a university assignment, building a personal project, or simply learning to code from scratch.
I am patient, encouraging, and fully committed to making sure every student leaves each session feeling more confident than when they arrived. I never rush through material and always check understanding before moving on.
Sessions take place online via video call and I am flexible with scheduling to fit around school, university, or work commitments. I look forward to helping you reach your goals !
