I am a patient and supportive tutor with over two years of experience teaching pupils from a wide range of backgrounds, including children with special educational needs. I have worked with students from primary school through to GCSE level, helping them strengthen their understanding, improve their confidence and make consistent academic progress.
I offer one-hour Maths and English lessons for KS1 and KS2 pupils. Every lesson is carefully planned by me and aligned with the National Curriculum, ensuring that students develop the knowledge and skills expected for their year group. I adapt my teaching to each child’s ability, learning style and individual targets rather than using the same approach for everyone.
Lessons usually begin with a short recap to check the student’s understanding of previous work. I then explain the new topic clearly using examples, guided questions and visual methods where helpful. The student will complete practice activities with my support before attempting questions independently. This allows me to identify any gaps in understanding and address them during the lesson.
I create my own lesson materials and provide suitable homework so that students can practise what they have learned between sessions. I also review completed homework, correct mistakes and explain anything the student found difficult.
My aim is to create a comfortable and encouraging learning environment where children are not afraid to ask questions or make mistakes.
Whether a pupil needs help catching up, additional support with schoolwork or more challenging activities, I will tailor each lesson to their needs. I also keep parents informed about their child’s progress and the areas we are working to improve.
