Each lesson is designed to be interactive, structured, and personalised. I like to start off with a warm up by reviewing key concepts from the previous lesson. After this, I introduce new material through explanation, guided practice and problem solving. To ensure the student is learning efficiently I do interactive practice with them using exercises and questions. At the end of the session the student and I will summarise what they learnt and answer some final questions and outline next steps. My teaching is tailored to the student to make sure they are learning effectively. My lessons are built on my own past experiences and have been perfected through trial and error. Being 15 means I can relate to younger students and communicate to them successfully meaning I know how to explain things in a simple way that doesn’t make the student feel overwhelmed or talked down to. This also means my teaching methods are not outdated as I learnt the same way not long ago. Progressing at the students pace is very important to me as it can be extremely frustrating and stressful for them if they can’t understand core content that will help them solve more difficult problems as they progress. This can be done by breaking down complex topics into simple digestible steps. I encourage asking questions as this helps the student actively think and help them be actively engaged the whole lesson. I’ve just finished doing my mock exams so I know how to reduce stress and stay motivated in order to get the best results possible.
