My methods revolve around helping students understand mathematics conceptually as opposed to making them learn off methods. This ensures that students are able to apply the concepts to any sort of question types and helps to prevent many of the exam day slip ups, as the students have bulletproofed themselves from any sort of curveballs which the exam may throw at them

I am a very patient person, and I do not want my students to feel as if they are not good enough or that they will never be good at maths. I believe that mathematics is a skill that is best learnt over time, and I am a firm believer in the saying “hard work beats talent”.

I do assign my students short problem sets to complete between classes, just to ensure that they have fully developed an understanding of the materials that we cover during our session. I noticed that some of my best maths learning in school came from when I was working on my homework. That being said, I understand how busy students may be, so I do not assign too much homework!

All in all, I do not believe that there any shortcuts to success, so I assume that my students would be willing to work hard and have a drive to improve, as I can only help students to understand the content. Part of becoming a successful maths student is through practice, so students will have to be prepared to work hard with me!
