Afeez Adewale Oni

I am an experienced and passionate Mathematics and Science teacher with several years of classroom and private tutoring experience. I hold a B.Sc. in Chemistry Education from the University of Lagos and I am a registered teacher with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
My lessons are student-centred, structured and adapted to each learner's individual needs. I begin by identifying the student's strengths and areas that require improvement, then develop a clear learning plan to help them make steady progress.
For A-Level and GCSE Mathematics, I focus not only on understanding mathematical concepts but also on developing problem-solving skills, accuracy, confidence and effective examination techniques. Lessons typically involve a short review of previous work, explanation of new concepts using clear examples, guided practice, independent questions and feedback.
I particularly enjoy helping students who want to move from good grades to excellent grades. For students preparing for examinations, I incorporate past-paper questions, timed exercises and targeted revision so that they become comfortable with the style and difficulty of examination questions.
I am patient, approachable and encouraging, but I also maintain high standards and expect students to actively participate in lessons. I believe students learn best when they understand why a method works rather than simply memorising procedures.
My aim is to make every lesson productive and engaging while helping students become confident, independent mathematicians.
