As a BSc Business & Management graduate at the University of Exeter, now working in an investment bank, my lessons are designed to be practical, structured, and results-driven. I don’t just teach theory — I focus on helping students understand how business administration concepts translate into real-world performance and, crucially, how to position themselves competitively for careers in banking and finance.
Lesson Format
My sessions are structured but interactive. Typically, a lesson is divided into three parts:
Concept Clarity (30–40%) – We break down key business or finance concepts in a clear, digestible way. Whether it’s corporate finance, financial statements, market structures, or commercial awareness, I ensure you understand not just what something is, but why it matters.
Application & Case Practice (30–40%) – We apply the theory to real-world scenarios. This may include analysing companies, discussing current market events, practising interview-style commercial questions, or reviewing case studies from banking assessment centres.
Career Strategy & Feedback (20–30%) – For students targeting banking, we work on CV refinement, cover letters, application strategy, competency questions, and interview preparation. I provide honest, detailed feedback based on my own experience securing internships and graduate offers.
Lesson Dynamics
My teaching style is collaborative rather than lecture-based. I ask questions, challenge assumptions, and encourage critical thinking. Breaking into banking requires confidence and clarity of thought, so I simulate real interview pressure in a supportive environment to build both.
I also tailor sessions to each student’s level — whether you’re just exploring finance or actively applying to investment banks, asset managers, or consulting firms.
My Experience
I’ve secured placements and insight experiences at globally recognised institutions including Goldman Sachs, PwC, Marsh McLennan, and J.P. Morgan, and I’ve gone through competitive assessment centres, video interviews, and networking processes myself. I understand what recruiters are really looking for — beyond just grades.
Ultimately, my goal is simple: to help you understand business deeply, think commercially, and approach banking applications with structure, confidence, and a clear strategy
