My GCSE Maths lessons are structured, calm and focused on helping students build confidence as well as strong exam skills. I begin each session by checking what the student already understands, identifying any gaps and setting a clear goal for the lesson. From there, I break each topic down into simple, manageable steps, explaining concepts clearly and modelling worked examples so the student can see exactly how to approach different types of questions.
Practice is a key part of my lessons. I use a mix of past papers, targeted exercises and retrieval practice to strengthen understanding and improve long-term memory of key methods. As we work through questions together, I check understanding carefully and guide students until they feel secure enough to attempt problems independently. This approach helps students develop both accuracy and confidence, especially when preparing for exams.
I studied Maths at both GCSE and A-Level, and I now study Biomedical Science at university, which gives me a strong foundation in mathematical problem-solving and the ability to explain ideas clearly. Also having studied Maths as a student, I have first hand experience in the usual obstacles student face when it comes to Exam prep, therefore enabling me to support students across all ability levels, from those aiming for top grades to those who need help with the basics. My lessons are supportive and encouraging, and I aim to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and proud of their progress.
My goal is always the same: to help students feel more confident, more consistent and more in control of their learning in GCSE Maths.
