I have been teaching for the past 2 years alongside my own studies, during this time I have helped multiple students reach their exam goals. I specialise in Maths and Physics and have experience teaching both of these subjects for AQA, Edexcel and OCR for GCSE and A level. I also have a 5 start tutor profile on MyTutor.

In my sessions, I like to follow a general formula that is easily tweaked and adjusted for each individual student’s needs. I always open with a small check-up asking about the student’s week. After, it starts with a brief recap question on whatever subject was covered last week to refresh and ensure the student has remembered the content covered. Then, a brief introduction into what we’ll be covering this session asking how comfortable they already are with the subject, and goals for the end of the session. I like to dive straight into an opening exam question to see how much the student already understands and their thought process with these problems. Once they’ve had a go at the question, we’ll get into the theory of the subject and patch up any holes in knowledge shown from the exam question. After the student feels comfortable, we’ll try again at a different example question and keep going until they feel ready to face a question of the highest difficulty they need, addressing any issues in technique or knowledge along the way. To end the session, I’ll recap on what we’ve learnt and double check the student feels confident on all we covered in that session.
