My journey started in 2014 after completing my Bachelors Degree in Forensic Science and was offered a job as a one to one special needs lunch time Supervisor facing challenges with my son who was 4 years old at the time and experiencing behavioural challenges
Under the umbrella of advocacy, I champion community programs, initiatives, and the obstacles and stigma that follow children and young people with special needs. My selfless dedication to carving out a fairer playing field for young people across the UK and Caribbean has enabled me to demonstrate a holistic approach to learning.
With over fifteen years of experience working in specialist education. Using initiative and with the ability to work well under pressure to deliver quick and accurate performance I am confident that I can play a key role in helping my students and continue to deliver teaching with excellence.
Employed as a SEND Tutor, I have acquired transferable skills and experience in management roles since my bachelor’s in forensic science (2014) my level 3 Diploma in Specialist support for teaching and learning in schools (2017), Level 3 early years educator qualification (2023) and my Level 5 teaching and Training (2024) Since then, I have gone on to operate as a Deputy Senco and Special needs practitioner in Early Years settings enabling me to provide a first-class service in my role.
Through the vast amount of experience I have gained I have continued to thrive during my current Masters of Special Educational Needs studies, especially with the knowledge and skills this course will provide me.
