Hi I'm Abigail, I'm an Ecology undergraduate student with 3 years of experience tutoring GCSE Maths.

I like my students to feel relaxed during lessons as I know maths can be intimidating, so my approach is calm and informal. I like students to know that lessons are the ideal time to make mistakes and ask questions as we can really break them down and discuss the process without any consequences.
I want my lessons to be engaging, so I have a huge focus on practice questions and past papers, rather than spending lots of time talking, but I can tailor my lessons on a case by case basis depending on what would be most helpful to the student.
Typically, I will have a theme or topic for the lesson (either at the request of the student, or identified by me through past papers or previous lessons) and I will collate some questions beforehand that we work through together. I encourage students to ask questions, and I'm happy to repeat and reword my explanations as many times as needed as I know sometimes we need to hear things a certain way before it just clicks.

I've tutored maths for students of all abilities, and helped students who were retaking their maths GCSE, as well as helping students move from foundation to advanced maths, and even those just starting GCSE topics.

I've mostly tutored GCSE Maths according to the Edexcel exam board however if you have another exam board in mind, or something else entirely, I can easily adjust.
