As someone who initially struggled with studying, I understand many students' difficulties. I am a patient, disciplined individual who is more than happy to motivate students to reach their potential. I appreciate that not all students learn the same way, so I often diversify my teaching methods to incorporate interactive features, visual cues or analogies wherever applicable. I also understand that students often retain information at different rates, and using active recall and flashcards during lessons assists with this. Reading comprehension and formulae are often touted as some of the most difficult academic skills to master. However, I often encourage the use of abstraction and highlighting key points. Abstraction helps to eliminate irrelevant bits, and zone in on the essential portions of the excerpt, and highlighting key points draws focus to the relevant information and objectives. I have also supervised lessons in the past and helped my siblings prepare for examinations including the 11+ common entrance exam and secondary school half-term assessments and GCSEs.
