My lessons are tailored to each student’s individual goals, whether that’s improving essay structure, preparing for exams, building confidence with literary analysis, or refining academic writing skills. I aim to create a supportive but intellectually engaging environment where students feel comfortable developing their ideas while also being challenged to think critically and write with precision.
Lessons are typically discussion-based and interactive rather than purely lecture-style. We work closely with texts, essay questions, and past papers, focusing on skills such as close reading, argument construction, analytical writing, and exam technique. For IB, GCSE, and A-Level students, I also help with coursework planning, revision strategies, and understanding marking criteria to maximise grades.
My academic background includes a BA in English from UCL, an MA in Publishing from the University of Exeter, and a 7 in IB English HL. Having studied both literature and professional publishing, I bring strong expertise in critical analysis, editing, and written communication. I understand both the academic and practical side of writing, which helps students develop clarity, sophistication, and confidence in their work.
