I consult the student (and parent) before sessions begin to note any weak topics that they’d like me to go over and how to move forward with exam practice and techniques and address any queries.
I normally start sessions with 10-15 minutes tests/ warm ups and focus on weak areas and topics that the student struggles with. I cover each topic , starting from the foundation and working my way up and always check in with the student at each stage. To maintain confidence and strong revision, I give students some past paper questions in topics they enjoy in maths under timed conditions or in a fun interactive way - whatever the student feels most comfortable doing. I am very patient and I’ll make sure that the student feels heard and confident in all areas of maths. Being a current student myself gives me a unique perspective: I understand what students are going through, and I know how to explain concepts in ways that really click. I'm genuinely passionate about maths and love helping others gain the confidence to enjoy and succeed in it too.
I completed GCSE Higher maths with a 9 and achieved the highest grade A in the Free standing Mathematics qualification. I study maths, further maths, economics and philosophy and I am predicted A*, A*, A*, A . I work with a tutoring company (in person) and tutor students online privately so I have the appropriate experience needed for this role. I look forward to working with you in the future !
