Success at 11+ and revision for primary - Experienced Tutor available

This year all my 11+ students and independent entry students have won places at the schools they wanted. the secret of my success as a tutor is that I tailor the lesson to the student's needs and make sure they have ample practice in their weak areas of Maths and English. i can also help with general primary lessons where students want to improve in Maths and English. In addition, I teach verbal and non verbal reasoning to a high standard ensuring students have plenty of exam practice.

Creative writing is an area where most students struggle. I plan so that they can write short excerpts, concentrating on making the best description or dialogue possible and then during the lesson, we uplevel the language to make it more interesting. As for comprehension, we start with straightforward comprehensions with simple questions and then move on to analysis of the language and learn about figurative language such as identifying similes, metaphors etc.

For Maths, each child studies a Bond book and does at lest 2 units a week for homework. If there are any weak areas, I re-teach the topic and give more questions for homework for the following week. i use videos a lot in Maths.
