Advert description
I am a final year economics undergraduate with a passion for mathematics. I have over 2 years experience with tutoring at all levels, from teaching applied mathematics at the academic support centre of my university, tutoring secondary and sixth form students in preparation for their A Levels or GCSEs, all the way to volunteering my time helping to run breakfast club tutoring sessions at my local school for primary age pupils. I find it's important to individualise teaching to each pupils needs. Whether its giving them more confidence in a topic they've been struggling with, or helping them understand something new, its all about making learning as enjoyable and impactful as possible, and it's this that gives me a real sense of satisfaction and achievement when it comes to tutoring.
I know that preparing for exams can be stressful and hard, and that in schools some students can fall behind, which is why I aim to go through topics and methods at whatever pace is most helpful to the student, breaking down difficult problems into easy to remember steps. And for those independant students who like to be in control of their learning, I find that it can be useful to let the student decide which topics they'd like to go through every week, after all, nobody can know their own strengths and weaknesses better than them.
