Oxford Student and Experienced Tutor offering English tutoring for GCSE, A-Level and University Admissions

Advert description
I teach online using Microsoft teams: I prepare clear, clean and easy to understand presentations that I offer to send to students after the lesson so they can look over the resources we used together. If needed, I send resources and worksheets between lessons for the students who are particularly dedicated to raising their grades as efficiently as possible. Most lessons begin with a recap of the lessons before, a five - minute quiz that ensures effective recall. Following this, we discuss the aims of the lesson, and then begin. The style of lesson is never the same between students; every student is unique and therefore demands a different approach and attitude. However, the dedication, attention to detail and high quality presentation of each lesson does remain the same - and parents of students will be able to observe this and check it for themselves when the slides from each session are emailed afterwards. For students who find focussing more difficult, presenting the lesson in the form of different games or challenges proves a highly effective way to maintain engagement. For students aiming for a more thoughtful, creative exploration of a subject, a more narrative based approach is better. Having worked with many students over the past two years, and offering an evaluative call before beginning with each new student, I am able to tailor each tutoring experience to effectively support each student in the best way possible. I also value effective communication between the student, the parent and myself. Tutoring is a collaboration, and I treat it as such. Having successfully worked with my students ranging from 11+ to University Admissions level, I know my subject through and through. As a student, I remain consistently immersed within my subject and am surrounded by the most current and interesting approaches to and concepts within my subject - this is an advantage retired professionals may lack. I care deeply about supporting students, and offering the highest quality of teaching possible.

My experience with Jennifer as a tutor was brilliant! She helped greatly to de-mystify the interview process in such a friendly and approachable way and helped me with other questions about my application. She went out of her way to give me extra support where I asked. Jennifer's feedback was extremely insightful and her mock interviews were similar to the real one; she really cared about me feeling positive going into my interviews and came across as genuinely passionate about tutoring, so I would highly recommend her help!

Jennifer was thoroughly prepared and equipped my daughter with everything she needed in a short space of time. She was patient, kind and encouraging. This gave my daughter much needed confidence in exams such as the oral and listening. I believe my daughter obtained a significantly better grade as a result of Jennifer's tutoring. I only wish I had discovered her earlier!

Her friendly and motivating manner helped our son gain confidence and stay focused throughout the process. We were very satisfied with her commitment and professionalism and can highly recommend her as a tutor.
