I taught students on-line for IDI (Interactive Design Institute) and OCA (Open College of the Arts)

Advert description
My qualifications are in art and design practice and theory up to Masters Level, I also have a Doctorate in Art and Design Education. I am an experienced teacher and lecturer (with a PGCE) who works well independently and as part of a team. I have created classes, seminars and lectures for various art, design and media courses and taught a diverse student population from a range of age groups and cultural backgrounds in schools and further education (from Primary to B.TEC) and Higher education (Pre. B.A Foundation to B.A Hons and P.G.C.E). I have experience in identifying learning needs, and how to, or, seek support for them. I am able to apply specific knowledge to practice at all levels.

Experience in teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP) has been a useful additional skill.

One aim has been to consider and implement the most exciting ways to engage the audience and sometimes this has meant collaborating with them. Creating a safe, welcoming, and open environment, which encourages people to visit repeatedly, was the chief aim. On two occasions in the UK I had funding from different Arts Boards to lead a small team of established craftspeople and teachers to organize workshops and exhibitions for young people, some of whom were physically disabled and others had behavioural, emotional and social difficulties (BESD). Commitment to and knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety procedures was vital. I am recognised as having effective, fair, pupil/student behaviour management at all levels.
It was interesting to teach Art at a boarding school in Switzerland-Auf Dem Rosenberg. I taught art and design at primary and secondary levels. Working with Key Stage 3/4 pupils was enjoyable and rewarding. Observing and guiding creativity, helping children understand the challenge of creating a piece of work; choice of medium, required skills and en
