SEN primary tutor KS1-KS2 with four years experience in a wide range of settings

Advert description
I have been providing high levels of tutoring for students, between the ages of 5-21, with Special Educational Needs for two years. I tutor in English, Maths, Science and History at KS1-KS2 level. I also offer interventions in emotional zones of regulation and art therapy exercises.

Prior to this I have two years experience working as a Learning Support Assistant with SEN primary students. I have worked in private academies, mainstream primary schools, SEN units and residential homes with early year students, primary school students and adult learners. I have taught students with various individual needs including ASD, Auditory Processing Disorder, SEMH, ADHD and Global Delay.

My current training in Art Therapy (Masters level) will further elevate my understanding of creative therapy interventions, which I will continue to apply within tuition sessions to enhance student’s wellbeing and engagement.

My student-centred approach has allowed students to transform as they become more confident in their own abilities and grow educationally, socially and emotionally. I provide high standards of individualised support whilst creating a positive and fun learning environment which allows students to thrive.

I have earned recognition from students, parents, and colleagues as a dedicated educator who cultivates meaningful connections with learners and their families to ensure maximum learning progress. Highlights of my experience include:
- Independently planning lessons whilst tutoring, including my own composed materials, to develop a targeted curriculum.
- Independently creating individualised targets and progress reports for Primary level students.
- Receiving training in sensory cognitive visual and kinaesthetic teaching and utilising these methods to allow students to utilise their individual learning styles.
- Completing NASEN safeguarding training.
- Completing Trauma Informed Teacher training.
- Running Occupational Therapy intervention groups for primary students with Autism, to allow them to improve their gross motor skills.
- Running zone of regulation intervention groups for primary students with anger management difficulties and ADHD.

Rosie worked for my two young sons as a full time homeschool teacher FROM 2021 to April 2022. Her work ethic was outstanding and she brought about new and innovative ways to engage with and teach the children daily. Her record keepting and reporting on their progress was great and she took real care to introduce project based learning to the boys. She is creative and thoughtful and brilliant with teaching children. I recommend her style and teaching capability very much.

Rosie worked with my son throughout year 4. Ben has dyslexia and struggled with literacy, falling behind at school. Rosie offered engaging and fun lessons that helped Ben to go from an Oxford level 6 to Oxford level 12 in just a year, simply by using engaging playful teaching techniques. Ben is now a lot more confident and interested in school and we are grateful for this.
