I want empower students through teaching and find a way to make history interesting while learning lots!

Advert description
I have a Master’s research degree in History in which I received a first class with distinction. Building on the foundation of my undergraduate degree in Contour Fashion, I started my history course to explore my passion for medieval and fashion history. My main project was to write a 30,000-word dissertation, which I chose to write about 'Fashion and Identity in Anglo-Norman England (c.1066 – c.1215)' and I later broke it down into four chapters to discuss: Symbolism in Clothing Showing Power & Authority, Wealth and Outward Presentation Showing Social Status, Style and Fashion and lastly, Identity, Individuality and Expressionism. While my specialities are medieval history and fashion history, I love learning all kinds, so you can name anything and we can learn together!

Learning from the past helps us make informed decisions in the future. Along with wars, revolutions, and other major events, history lessons cover politics, social trends, economics, culture, and technology. There is so much to learn about history. History is something I want students to learn and enjoy.

There are many directions students can take in my classes, depending on their interests and how they learn best. Engaging students in learning is often achieved with interactive methods. These activities may include debates, multimedia presentations, and discussions. Various resources are used in history education, such as textbooks, primary documents, and historical artefacts.

The study of primary and secondary sources allows students to gain insight into historical motivations, actions, and consequences. I also teach critical thinking in my history classes. Students interpret historical events by analysing different points of view and evaluating assumptions. Understanding the world grows as students learn patterns, make connections, and learn cause-and-effect relationships.

Students gain a deeper understanding of human nature and the world through history lessons. The challenges and accomplishments of previous generations can strengthen student values, beliefs, and decision-making abilities. I am happy to answer questions or tell you more about certain history topics!
