Advert description
From teaching in the classroom since 2015 to being an AQA Examiner for GCSE English Literature, I've seen English Literature from both sides. It is a subject that is content heavy but with a fantastic thesis and understanding of the texts and authors you are studying, you can swiftly reach Grade 7 and above. It is a course with a very straightforward mark scheme and examiner focus; and having been trained to mark these essays, I can help you elevate your written responses - not with quick 'hacks' but with critical and evaluative thinking that will benefit you and aid you no matter what questions pop up in the exam.
These sessions will be about improving essay writing and broadening your understanding of literature; being able to place the texts you study in the wider context will boost your confidence whether it be considering tropes and themes in Gothic literature, to understanding the Romantic poets, or questioning the treatment of gender or class by an author.
Added bonus: the deepening your knowledge of literature will benefit you when it comes to the unseen elements in both the GCSE English Literature and English Language exams, as well as inspire your own creative writing.
