Enthusiastic and experienced Spanish teacher

Advert description
I am a qualified school teacher with QTS and I have a master’s degree in teaching Spanish as a Second Language.

I have huge experience in planning and delivering bespoke Spanish lessons to all ages and I have also experience in exam preparation for University. I work as a graduate teacher at the university of Bristol. I have prepared post-beginner students (A2, CEFR) and provided extra lessons to a group of Ab-initio students (intensive, one-year A1-B1 course).

I prepare different teaching and learning activities aiming to help students to understand the topic from various angles. I develop and select the materials, paper based and in digital formats, using learning tools such as Canva, Power point, Kahoot...

A variety of teaching methods help engage and motivate each learner so giving real-life examples, creating a simulation role/play related to the topic, working in small projects, or including games using technology is something that I always try to do with my students. I encourage them to speak in Spanish as much as they can as there is no better way to learn a language than using it. I also like to include activities where they have to watch videos or listen to music related to the topic as this also assists in better understanding., The use of images when teaching also helps students to remember the topic and increase their retention span.

As Wittgenstein said: “The limit of my language means the limits of my world”, explaining that acquiring a new language will open new paths to discover other cultures and will enrich you as a person. The quote describes accurately my professional purpose: to inspire and help students succeed in their academic and personal life. To achieve this, I consider that the three most important elements of effecting language teaching are setting clear and achievable learning objectives, planning instructional activities and giving feedback during the whole process.

So, either you are a student or an adult and you would like to learn a language that will help you professionally or just for fun, I would love to meet you and start our language journey together.
