I received an A in A-Level photography, so I have a great understanding of the workload and how to help students get the grades they need. I will start by using a range of techniques to extrapolate the students ideas and what they want to receive from both our tutoring session and their photography course. Once I have gained an understanding of what the student wants, I will help them understand the terminology and techniques used in order to get the best results. A lot of brainstorming and research will be done as this is one of the most effective ways to help your generation of ideas and additionally get you top marks. From there we will decide if the student wants their work to tell a story, be a part of an installation, be presented in a certain way etc. There are endless opportunities and options for photography work, which is what makes this course an excellent outlet for creativity. I personally loved exploring new editing styles and media to incorporate into my final pieces. Its important for students to make a connection with their work, with the help of all the photography techniques (rule of thirds, compositing, lighting, contrast etc.), this will increase their grades even further. I believe that there are endless possibilities when it come to photography and it all starts with the student.

I understand that the workload can be overwhelming at times, but despite my effort to get students the best grade possible, I also want to emphasise how important it is to retain the joy of taking photos, and I will give them an idea to explore at the end of each session - a photo to take for fun, not just for their course.
