I have worked as a private tutor, Academic Learning Coach, cover teacher, and SEN support staff where I partook in several duties such as providing personal statement support, one-on-one GCSE and A-Level sessions, and ESOL sessions. The school I worked at is reputed for its strong academic performance and its focus on equality and diversity, and our team worked hard to provide extra support to those who need it. We supported both teachers and students by covering lessons and holding extra sessions for those who are behind, have physical or mental disabilities, or do not speak English fluently. I have also tutored around 10 students struggling to pass GCSE English and French, and all of them subsequently passed with a good grade after working together.

My teaching style is focused on communication and practice. I think it is invaluable to complete as many past papers as possible as it helps you familiarise yourself with the content and the way the exam board wants answers to be structured. I also ensure my students understand the mark scheme thoroughly, so they know how and where to pick up marks. I go through my students' answers with them aloud and talk through what I think was good and what needs more work. I find that reading answers aloud to my students helps them understand their mistakes and how to correct them.
